He has some funny and thought provoking things to say, and he says them well.Air Conditioning Maintenance Richardson reviewshttp://www.theclimatetech.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1157342843002612388.post-28457264055469751952012-02-17T10:45:23.806-06:002012-02-17T10:45:23.806-06:00@Seana: Thank you. Jung described Ulysses as "a new Bible for the human race" but overall didn't seem to understand the book (he said one can easily read it backwards and get the same effect, which offended Joyce). Jung also treated Joyce's mentally ill daughter and there's lots of interesing stuff around that.

@SatoriGuy: Thanks, the more I talk to people about RAW the more clear it is that involvement with his books attracts swirling synchronicities in one's life. (I notice the same thing with Joyce's books.)

That "10 Reasons" essay is one of my favorites, I'd planned on discussing it in the review but it was getting way too long already. And you're right about his style. It's amazing because, behind that smooth and thoroughly readable prose, he appears to carefully crafting that "mini-epiphany" reaction for the reader.

@Tom Jackson: Coincidance; Prometheus Rising; Illuminati Papers; Sex, Drugs, & Magick; Cosmic Trigger; and currently finishing up Email to the Universe. I'm hoping to review "S, D, & M" and "Cosmic Trigger" soon.PQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14491626995530401441noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1157342843002612388.post-62604060863800939422012-02-17T09:10:36.658-06:002012-02-17T09:10:36.658-06:00Thanks, PQ. I just finished reading the Illuminati Papers last weekend which is an odd coincidance.

I definitely can attest to having a few vocal "wow" moments myself while reading some of the essays mentioned above. I also really enjoyed the essay "10 Reasons To Get Out of Bed in the Morning".

RAW's writing style seems to be crafted to provoke mini-epiphanies every other page or so. His humor, encyclopedic knowledge and forward-looking optimism is a rare combination that is sorely lacking in mainstream literature these days.BrentQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13348133246050450327noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1157342843002612388.post-16069936561115917882012-02-16T00:45:11.352-06:002012-02-16T00:45:11.352-06:00Great post. A lot of food for thought in this one, Joycean and otherwise.

You may be amused that at our Finnegan meeting tonight, one member read a letter from Jung to Joyce on the subject of having read Ulysses. Struggled through Ulysses, gnashing his teeth all the way, but coming out the other side to celebrate it. And to share both his praise and his boredom.

Joyce appreciated both the praise and the boredom.seana grahamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03774794086733027289noreply@blogger.com
